Lyra Pramuk
Lyra Pramuk is a vocalist, composer and producer working mainly with her own voice. She fuses classical vocalism, pop sensibilities, performance practices and contemporary club culture in what can best be described as futurist folk music. Alongside her solo work, Lyra has also collaborated with Holly Herndon and Colin Self. For Lyra, devotion is ingrained in her music that harnesses the power and giddiness of technology to present the human voice as an object of limitless possibility. Raised in a small Pennsylvania town, Lyra crafted her unique artistic identity in the digital realm, finding liberation from traditional expectations through her online explorations. A graduate of the Eastman School of Music, she excelled in challenging and reshaping classical music norms. Lyra Pramuk's debut album “Fountain”, crafted entirely from her own vocal sounds, merges the personal experiences of trans identity with the broader scope of social and technological possibilities. Her upcoming compilation "Delta" extends these themes, reimagining “Fountain” through diverse global perspectives, all while maintaining a deeply spiritual core that underscores her work's transcendent mission.
