Alicja Kowalczewska & Michał Gulik
Alicja Kowalczewska co-curates and coordinates Unsound’s discourse programme and has worked for the festival in various capacities since 2012. When the Unsound dust settles, she turns into a hermitess and spends her nights translating theatrical plays. Before getting burned out, she earned a PhD in Philosophy – the memory of which is preserved in her email signature and a ‘Trust me, I’m the doctor’ mug she got from her parents. Her academic research interests include Margery Kempe, mysticism, identity and sexuality in the late Middle Ages, industrial music, and the connections between philosophy, literature, and cultural phenomena.
Michał Gulik is a Kraków-based curator, writer, and scholar specialising in digital culture and critical theory. He’s been curating Unsound’s discourse programme for longer than he wishes to count.
